Sydney is an energetic and exciting metropolis whose nightlife, shopping and fine restaurants compare favourably with the finest the world has to offer. Despite its modern advances, Sydney has lovingly cherished its heritage, for this was the birthplace of the Australian nation.

Combine Sydney's boundless attractions with its superb harbour-side location, and you have that certain magic that few other cities can rival.  We can arrange your pre-cruise accommodation, transfers and sightseeing if required.

Day 3   20 March, 2010  Melbourne, Victoria Australia  8am - 10pm   Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria. It maintains an air of old-world grace and refined dignity with spacious tree-lined boulevards and expansive parks. The prosperous lifestyle of its people is both cosmopolitan and sophisticated. Quaint trams rumble through the downtown area past verdant gardens and impressive high-rises, in a city that has never lost its endearing charm. The heritage of more than 100 different cultures has contributed to Melbourne's richly international character. This diverse ethnic mix is exemplified by its range of 15,000 dining venues which offer more than 50 different kinds of cuisine. Melbourne's sightseeing is as diverse as it is composition and beckons for your discovery.

Day 4  21 March, 2010  Day at sea
Like people, all brands have distinct personalities. Guests who know them well would say that Crystal Cruises is authentic, warm and refined. That they are like a good friend or a gracious family member, who genuinely enjoys seeing guests smile.   It's hard to put into words just how welcome you feel when you first board their ships and that feeling continues throughout the cruise.  It’s hard to put into words how special you feel every moment of every day.  The luxury is evident everywhere without being pretentious.   The service is sometimes described as "classic" and often called "award-winning,"  Whatever the adjective…Crystal Cruises' service is always first-rate, and is genuine, and unremitting, without being intrusive.   Crystal certainly achieve their  goal which is to make every guest feel special and at ease.

Day 5  22 March, 2010    8am - 6pm    Hobart, Tasmania Australia   Hobart, premier city of the island-state of Tasmania, is situated between Mount Wellington and the Derwent River. As Australia's second-oldest capital, it savours the present while revering its past. History adds picturesque charm to this charismatic city, for there are no less than 90 buildings with National Trust classification. At Salamanca Place and Battery Point, relics of the whaling days of the last century can still be seen. Tasmania maintains abiding links with a wealth of Australian heritage. The convict settlement of Port Arthur provides vivid reminders of bygone days. With a busy port and thriving commercial centre, Hobart is justifiably recognized as one of the world's most beautiful harbour cities.

Day 6 & 7  23 March & 24 March, 2010   At sea   Time to relax or perhaps enjoy some of the lectures & enrichment programmes on board. The popular Crystal Visions Enrichment Program and Creative Learning Institute are offered on every cruise and include a noted destination expert who lectures on the regions visited during the cruise, plus at least one other respected enrichment speaker who shares insights into his or her particular world.

One stroll about the public areas on any Crystal cruise and you will discover entertainment at practically every turn. There's a headline show every evening in the Galaxy Lounge. There is frequently music in the Crystal Cove and a pianist performs nightly in the Avenue Saloon. A string ensemble entertains in the Palm Court during Afternoon Tea. Entertainment may also be found at various times in other venues including the Crystal Dining Room, the Starlite Club, the Stardust Club, the Club 2100, on the Lido Deck, and more.

Day 8   25 March, 2010  Cruising Milford Sound, New Zealand  Milford Sound is the undisputed jewel of Fiordland National Park. Thousands of years ago, relentless glacial ice forged its rugged grandeur. Sheer-faced granite walls soar skyward, white-plumed waterfalls tumble from lush valleys into glassy waters and Mitre Peak rears over 5,000 feet into the mist.  Due to its outstanding natural beauty and cultural significance, Milford Sound has been nominated a World Heritage Area.
Please note, no guests will be permitted ashore. However, the true grandeur of Milford Sound is best enjoyed from the water and the comfort of your Crystal Cruises' ship.

Day 9  26 March, 2010  Dunedin, New Zealand  8am  -  6pm    The charming city of Dunedin lies in southeastern New Zealand, less than ten miles from our pier in Port Chalmers. Its name means Edinburgh in Gaelic and to this day it has retained enduring reminders of its Scottish roots. Adorning the streets of Dunedin is a wealth of Victorian and Edwardian buildings, richly festooned with spires, gables and gargoyles. These architectural landmarks are imposing reminders of a more prosperous era. Surprisingly, the surrounding area is also home to prolific local wildlife, animals rarely found so close to a major city. The choice is yours: explore impressive city architecture, take a rail journey through unspoiled wilderness or venture out to view albatrosses and a country estate.

Day 10  27 March, 2010  Christchurch/Lyttleton, New Zealand    8 am  -  6 pm
Just 30 minutes from the pier at Lyttelton lies Christchurch, New Zealand's spectacular "Garden City."  Founded as a model church settlement in 1851, Christchurch is now the South Island's premier metropolitan centre.  The planner's dream of creating an English town is reflected in its well-tended gardens, fine Victorian architecture and ivy-covered stone homes, set beside the meandering River Avon.    Fine craft shopping, excellent restaurants and a wealth of nearby sightseeing attractions, including flightseeing to snow-capped Mount Cook and drives into the gently rolling Canterbury Plains, abound. You may also choose to view the country's Southern Alps by train, visit the International Antarctic Centre or venture farther afield for an overland experience in Queenstown.   Whatever your choice, you'll agree that Christchurch is one of New Zealand's favourite visitor destinations.

It is also the gateway for Rotorua, the geothermal wonderland that is one of New Zealand's most famous attractions

Day 13  30 March, 2010   Auckland, New Zealand  8 am
Welcome to Auckland, the "City of Sails." New Zealand's largest city is along the shores of an extinct volcanic cone known as Rangitoto, often visible to the east. Auckland's population of over one million people represents almost a third of the country's total.  New Zealand seems to have a bit of everything: great natural beauty, friendly people, magnificent glacier-studded mountain ranges, sculpted fjords, pristine untouched beaches, lush rainforest, an endless array of sporting activities, and, not to be forgotten, plenty of sheep and rolling farmland.   Auckland is the perfect city from which to experience most of what New Zealand has to offer.
