Voyage of the Vikings - London to New York
*Fully escorted
Guaranteed SINGLE room throughout
Departing London 02 September, 2008
I would be truly amazed if this trip did not exceed your expectations and can almost guarantee that you will be planning your next cruise before you've even disembarked from this one. As we say about every tour that involves a Crystal cruise .."this trip is all about the journey - the places we visit - even though magnificent - are just an afterthought!"
But what a wonderful 'afterthought' it is to visit the highlands of Scotland, the Faroe Islands of Denmark, Iceland and Greenland, Nova Scotia and then vibrant New York? And what wonderful thoughts of anticipation this trip is, blessed with the knowledge that the days at sea on board Crystal are some of the most well spent days of any holiday.
Those with time to spare can combine this trip with a round world airfare, stop off before and after the cruise for a trip of a lifetime. Perhaps consider combining this cruise with our River Cruise through Europe before joining Crystal Symphony?
Day1 02 September, 2008 London/Dover, England
Crystal Symphony sails at 6pm
For centuries, Dover has been a symbol of England's royal fortitude. The port's
legendary White Cliffs have long been a welcomed landmark for seafaring
travelers. The solid Dover Castle has faced invasions by Roman, French and even
English troops.London's legendary sights, including Westminster Abbey, Big Ben,
Parliament Square, Whitehall and the fashionable West End, lie just 80 miles
from historic Dover.
Day 2 03 September, 2008 Cruising the North Sea We love sea days on Crystal! There is so much to do that our only complaint is there is not enough time to do it all. Today we have a full day to explore this amazing ship and enjoy some of the non stop entertainment provided free of charge on board. Day
3 04 September, 2008 Invergordon, Scotland
8am - 6pm
Lying quietly on the Cromarty Firth, Invergordon is the gateway to the highlands
region of Scotland. From its early industrial days as one of
the main producers of whisky, to its present-day involvement in the repairing of
oil rigs, Invergordon and neighboring Inverness are steeped in history.
Perhaps Invergordon's greatest claim to fame is Loch Ness, the narrow
23-mile-long body of murky water, home to the elusive monster "Nessie."
Day 4 05
September, 2008 Tórshavn/Faroe
Islands, Denmark 10am - 6pm
With roots firmly grounded in Viking language and tradition, the 18 islands that
form the Faroes are steeped in history, graced with windswept wilderness and
occupied by people with a hearty passion for survival. With 17,000
citizens, Tórshavn, which means "The Harbor of the god Thor," is the smallest
capital in the world and is said to be the oldest capital in Scandinavia. The
colorful houses and tiny fishing boats decorate a harbor that is charming and
inviting.

first board their ships and hoDay
